ROCK VETERANS AFI MAKE A TRIUMPHANT RETURN WITH NINTH
STUDIO ALBUM.

FROM OPENING track, ‘The Sinking Night’ it is abundantly clear that AFI are
taking no prisoners in their latest effort. Anthemic and powerful from the
outset, this album truly is a game-changer.
From first listen it is clear that this record comes from a dark place. In an
official statement, main-man Davey Havok said: “It is shamefully honest and
resolutely unforgiving.” First single, ‘I Hope You Suffer’ is packed with
venomous lyrics which see Havok spitting the line- “I opened my heart to you,
you lied just to reach inside.”
Hit single ‘17 Crimes’ has stormed the rock charts recently. The track is a
pop-punk fuelled escapade from start to finish, carrying with it traces from
2006 release, Decemberunderground. That being said, it’s a great, proven
formula and a very welcome return to form.
